Netta (they/she) is a therapist and artist specializing in Somatic Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy with individuals, and Relational Psychodynamic Therapy with couples, dyads, and groups. They are white, queer, Jewish, and the child of immigrants. Netta is kink- and poly-knowledgeable, and recognizes there is a wide range of pleasurable and consensual sexual experiences.

Netta loves to work with creatives, couples, families, friendships, and alternative relationship structures. They hold a deep respect for the power of creativity in healing and aliveness, while also understanding the painful impacts of the art worlds’ embeddedness in a capitalist system. They regularly practice mindful movement, meditation, and contact improvisation, and bring their reverence for the wisdom of the body into the therapy room.

Netta’s approach is grounded in the belief—rooted in IFS theory—that we are all made up of many parts-of-self, and that cyclical challenges emerge when these parts feel misunderstood, neglected, suppressed, or otherwise unsafe. Our parts often believe they must take over in order to protect us. Using IFS, Netta facilitates the compassionate and patient befriending of these parts, which supports a more collaborative internal system. Through this process, instead of feeling hijacked by emotions and reactions, you start to feel a sense of choice regarding which of your strengths to call on in challenging situations. This process cultivates a positive feedback loop of self-compassion, which, in addition to helping with big and small challenges, can powerfully support your presence, well-being, and creativity in each moment.

Netta is attuned to the ways our social identities, as they collide with systems of power and oppression, structure our experiences day-to-day and socio-politically. As a therapist, Netta supports ongoing curiosity about the ways both visible and invisible identities interplay with relationship dynamics.

Netta has completed a Master’s degree in Social Work and Social Practice from Bryn Mawr, IFS Level 1 training in Internal Family Systems, Susan McConnell’s Step 1 training in Somatic Internal Family Systems, and additional training in Tavistock Group Relations, Psychodrama, and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy. They also have a background in visual art, with an MFA from Tyler School of Art. Netta leads retreats and events in their role as Assistant Director at The Deep Play Institute, and has a passion for building community around relational mindfulness and creativity.
